We’re now working with the forward-thinking team at Hampshire Cultural Trust to develop a new, strategic marketing approach across their portfolio of some of Hampshire’s leading heritage attractions: Milestones Museum in Basingstoke and The Great Hall and 878 AD, both in Winchester.

About

Hampshire Cultural Trust’s portfolio is vast and diverse, made up of museums, galleries and arts centres, each one special and worth visiting.

With an ethos of ‘changing lives through culture’, Hampshire Cultural Trust was established as an independent charity in 2014 to help promote Hampshire as a county that offers outstanding cultural experiences to both visitors and locals alike.

The trust runs a huge variety of exhibitions, workshops, classes, events and projects for both young and old, with particular emphasis on reaching people in the community who are vulnerable or disadvantaged and would not normally be able to access arts and culture.

In addition, the trust cares for a whopping 2.5 million objects that relate to Hampshire’s rich and internationally important cultural heritage.

Milestones Museum

Milestones, Hampshire’s museum of living history, offers a captivating journey into the past. Visitors can stroll through the museum’s meticulously recreated streets, shops and buildings to gain insight into life from the Victorian era through to the 1940s. Highlights include purchasing a ration of sweets from the 1940s sweet shop, viewing an impressive collection of vintage vehicles and enjoying the nostalgic fun of the Milestones Pier with its vintage penny arcade.

The Great Hall

Constructed by William the Conqueror, Winchester Castle served as the seat of power for medieval monarchs.

Today, only two structures remain from this once magnificent site: The Great Hall, renowned as one of the finest remaining medieval halls in England, and the Westgate, now a museum, which functioned as the castle’s primary defence.

878 AD

878 AD is an interactive attraction featuring the sights and sounds of Anglo-Saxon Winchester and the stories of the people who lived there, brought to life through the spectacular world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Discovery Tour: Viking Age. With live performance and real Anglo-Saxon objects, 878 AD also features a self-guided, augmented reality app tour of Winchester.

"Once we began talking with the team at Navigate, we knew that there was a mutual understanding of the space that we’re working in. We look after culturally significant venues, objects and programmes, so it was vital we looked to a trusted partner who not only understood the sector, but also the opportunity we have as a charity that is looking to attract visitors to our venues. I’m delighted we’re now working with Navigate."

Paul Sapwell, CEO, of Hampshire Cultural Trust

Not only are we supporting the team with digital advertising across the three key sites in their portfolio, but we’re also engaging their leadership team and stakeholders to research and develop a clear strategic understanding of their position in the marketplace and areas for growth.

“After visiting the team and their venues, it’s clear their passion and knowledge for what they do shines through. I’m excited to be supporting the team to drive visitor numbers at a vital time for the charity and help them plot a course of action for the future."
